Eu cá chego sempre atrasado a estas coisas, as novidades do que melhor se vai fazendo pela música neste (ainda) início de século. Há umas semanas atrás descobri os “Animal Collective”, excelente banda em consagração com o magnânimo (e único) “Merriweather Post Pavilion”. Como diria alguém que conheço “... highly recommended!” e repare-se na ilusão óptica (capa do álbum):
Desde já, também se recomendam o “Strawberry Jam” e “Fall Be Kind” - em EP. Atente-se ainda na sagacidade (e subtileza) de um dos rapazinhos da banda:
In 2004, [Noah] Lennox [aka as Panda Bear] moved from New York to Lisbon, after he went there for the first time at the end of a long Animal Collective tour with Dave Portner in 2003 for a short vacation. Lennox says about Lisbon: "Since I got off the airplane here [for the first time] I had a good feeling about this place." ... Lennox eventually decided to move to Europe because he also felt “connected to the European way of life”, considering himself as a “slow moving kind of person” and Lisbon as a “slow moving kind of place”.
